Sat., Dec. 6 – Polish Your Pitches for the
“Inside Pitch!”
Deliver your best pitches to an industry insider and hear whether they
have a chance or what to do to improve them. Known for his honest
feedback, Chris Lockhart, the former executive story editor of ICM, now
with the William Morris Agency, is back for his fourth year in a row to
take pitches from AWG members at the December 6 meeting. The best
pitcher will have his or her script read by Chris and will receive a
follow-up phone conference with him. (A script outline will suffice if
the script has not yet been written.)
At William Morris Agency, Chris finds projects for “A” listers like Mel
Gibson, Denzel Washington and Steve Martin. He is also a creative
consultant for COLLATERAL producer, Julie Richardson, and has set up
several projects, including A RHINESTONE ALIBI with Paramount and THE
MIDNIGHT MAN with Dimension. In his spare time, he teaches screenwriting
at L.A. Valley College, and lectures around the country. His free
writing workshop, THE INSIDE PITCH, aired locally on TV station LA36 in
2004, earning him an L.A. Area Emmy nomination. The subsequent DVD
release won the 2005 Aegis Award. Lockhart dishes out advice and
feedback to writers on an ongoing basis at his free screenwriting web
site,
