Randy Thompson began acting at the age of six in his hometown of Baltimore, Maryland. He appeared on local television throughout his childhood and high school years.
He earned a B.A. in intercultural education from the Universidad de las Americas in Cholula Puebla, Mexico, and an M.A. in mass communication from Emerson College in Boston. Randy has taught theater and written theater and movie reviews for the African American News and World Report.
He moved to California to continue his acting career but decided to attempt writing, and joined the Alameda Writing Group in 1997 when the group met at NBC.
Two of his plays, "Serial" and "Abracadabra" were first produced in the AWG’s evening of one-acts. He was also written radio dramas for 30 Minutes To Curtain. Two notable radios shows, "Justice For All" and "Stagecoach Mary" were taped at the Autry Museum and aired on National Public Radio.
Three of Randy's movie scripts have been optioned by Main Man Films in Denver. He is currently represented by the Menza-Barron Agency in New York
