BIO
Karen Callahan completed her double major in Communications and Theatre, with an emphasis on Directing, at U.C. Santa Barbara. After college, she worked for KPIX-TV in San Francisco, where she had the opportunity to produce public service segments and teasers for Evening Magazine.
Since then, she’s been a newspaper reporter, a copywriter, a video scriptwriter and producer, and a producer of major meetings and trade shows attracting up to 20,000 attendees. Currently, she is the Sales & Marketing Director for an international trade association for manufacturers of retail interiors.
In this capacity, she oversees membership recruitment and retention of over 800 member companies and is directly responsible for managing the association’s relationship with retailers, including well-known brands like Nike, Target, Disney, and Neiman Marcus.
Karen’s favorite project the past 10+ years has been the production of the international retail design industry’s premier awards program, the NASFM Retail Design Awards. Also, check out her website for retail designers.

The People’s Choice

Tim Beemer, a regimented city planner, has the chance of a lifetime—he gets to help highly-respected Superior Court Judge Raley establish a new town the way it should be done, with rules and ordinances aplenty.
His only problem—the eccentric judge no longer believes in written rules, and neither do his wacky townfolk. Will Tim be able to save the town from itself long enough to get its charter written and approved?
