2008 BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Demetrious Polychron, President

Demetrious’ writing career has so far included over 175 finished poems, many of which have won awards, but none of which has made a single dollar; three paid but uncredited writing positions on three unproduced feature film scripts; a stint writing for Genre Magazine for which he got pay, credit, and national exposure; and two spec scripts.

His first spec script, The Unknown Actor, which broke to semi-finals in the Slamdance Screenwriting Competition is destined for all the 2007 competitions. Demetrious moderates the A-to-Z Script SIG and is hard at work on his third spec script, The Four Horsemen.

Karen Callahan, Vice-President/Programming

Karen writes comedy screenplays and hopes to one day change the world through much-needed laughter and comedic clarity. Her day jobs have included newspaper reporter, a copywriter, a video scriptwriter and producer, and a producer of major meetings and trade shows attracting up to 20,000 attendees.

Julia Bergeron, Vice-President At-Large

Writer. Married with kids. Always juggling.

For more six-word memoirs check out http://www.smithmag.net/sixwords/. Julia also moderates the AWG Coverage Exchange.

Sarah Johnson, Treasurer

Sarah has a diversified writing background. She received her B.A. in Writing, Literature, and Publishing from Emerson College, with a minor in Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations.

Sarah began her Hollywood career working in development at a European-Canadian co-production company. She has publishing credits in local papers, both in Hollywood and Connecticut. While enjoying the journalism discipline (her favorites being the editorial and feature), her current focus is the screenplay. She makes writing a non-negotiable part of her life in the hours away from her job in television syndication.

Colin Brownlie, Secretary

Colin also leads the Whole Script SIG with Chris DelliCarpini.
