The Alameda Writers Group thanks Paul N. Lazarus, III for agreeing to serve as the very first member of the AWG Advisory Board.

Presently serving as Director of the Film Program, University of Miami School of Communication, Lazarus has served as a consultant to numerous Florida motion picture projects.

Formerly, he was the Film Commissioner, State of New Mexico; Vice President in charge of production HBO Feature Film Division; Vice President in charge of production Marble Arch Productions; Vice President in charge of production ABC Pictures Corp.; Vice President in charge of production Palomar Pictures Corp.; Founder and Managing Director of CRM Productions, Motion Picture Division of "Psychology Today" magazine.

In addition, he is a former motion picture talent agent and attorney specializing in copyright and defamation.

Lazarus has comprehensive knowledge of film production, and was a producer for these films:

A screenwriter and author, he wrote the 1985 book, THE MOVIE PRODUCER. His revised edition, retitled the THE FILM PRODUCER, was published by St. Martin's Press in 1992. Thanks to many changes in the film business, his A-to-Z guide is now available in a third edition from Silman-James Press under the title PRODUCED BY: BALANCING THE ART AND BUSINESS IN THE MOVIE INDUSTRY.

His novel, AGENT, was published in 2001 by Authors Choice Press, an iUniverse.com imprint. His most recent novel, THE MASTER, was published by AuthorHouse.
